The skills which must be displayed to achieve this level are: |
| Bidding |
| Show the ability to use judgement - not just stick strictly to point counts |
| Bid a slam using cue bidding as part of the auction |
| Use competitive and responsive doubles in an auction |
| Use fourth suit forcing correctly, understanding the alternative responses |
| Use and understand Weak Two openings |
| Use transfers in response to a 1NT and 2NT opening |
| Cardplay |
| Count winners |
| Demonstrate an elimination play in either a suit or no trump contract |
| Demonstrate a safety play |
| Perform a trump promotion in defence |
| Understand basic distributional percentages |
| Demonstrate a dummy reversal |
| Playing |
| Play outside school in a club or school competition |
| Continue to demonstrate excellent etiquette and behaviour at the table |
