Club Teacher Essentials
New Club Teacher Essentials Course
With our Teaching Hub now being over 12 months old and following the success of our online webinars we are delighted to announce the restructure of our club teacher programme.
New Associate members now have a distinct pathway to follow where they can gain an insight into how to get the best out of our materials and know how to benefit from interaction with the third party providers that we work with as well as becoming aware of other resources available to bridge teachers.
The new teacher essentials course blends both online tuition with face 2 face so that all Associates are better equipped to effectively deliver our material in the way that suits them best.
For new teachers we provide a complete 'turnkey' solution to delivering bridge lessons for complete beginners split over a number of lessons for which we provide full lesson plans. In addition we work with bridge experts who prepare the material for us allowing us to insures that what we offer is both relevant and up to date with modern practices.
For experienced teachers because our material is split up in to individual learning objectives its easy to take individual parts of our pre-formatted lessons and use them to support your existing individual lesson plans.
The Club Teacher Essentials course initially comprises of 4 elements the first two of which should be completed prior to attending the 1 Day Face 2 Face course.
Part 1 - Complete, at your own pace, the Associate Pathway from within the courses section of your Teaching Hub login.
Part 2 - Attend the half day online Club Teacher Orientation where you will familiarise yourself with our Beginning Bridge material, review the facilities offered by No Fear Bridge, play and create hands on bridge-training.com, set up tables on IntoBridge exploring the use of robots, review the teaching possibilities provided by RealBridge and both creating and maintaining your entry for the online teachers directory.
Part 3 - Attend our Face 2 Face 1 Day course where you will see teaching techniques in action and try some techniques yourselves. You will both give and receive feedback with some role play activities, observe and analyse how techniques facilitate learning. In addition you will consider ways to differentiate activities to meet the needs of different learners, assess student progress and evaluate your own lessons. You will deliver a mini lesson using some aspects of our Beginning Bridge material and receive positive feedback from your 'students' and trainer plus review additional teaching methods that could have been employed.
Part 4 - Attend the half day online Club Teacher Progression where you will review how you might market your course to your chosen demographic including a section on Classroom to Clubroom where methods for providing an east transmission from the learning environment to general duplicate session can be achieved. Part of this will include simple scoring and small movements suitable to beginners. You will become aware of the support that EBTA can give you, including mentoring, along with considering the progression within EBTA to professional membership.
Please note that Parts 1 and 2 should be completed before the Face 2 Face meeting and you should check your availability for Part 2 before booking.
Part 4 should be completed about 1 month after the Face 2 Face meeting.
