Eton College Presented with the Inaugural Lords Trophy

On Wednesday the 29th of June, Eton College, winners of the Inter-schools League, were presented with the new Lords Trophy during a visit to the House of Lords.

Following on the Schools Cup having been played online in 2020 and 2021, EBED decided to build upon the success of those events. Following an idea by Stuart Haring and the relentless work of Joan Bennett (EBED’s national youth coordinator), in September 2019 the Inter-schools League was up and running.

Are you new to bridge and want to enjoy a friendly game with like-minded players?

EBED are pleased to offer students and novice players relaxed duplicate sessions within a supported environment. The games will consist of 12 boards played at a relaxed pace with experienced teachers on hand to help. At the end of the session you will be invited to share your experiences with your fellow players via Zoom.

Every Wednesday at 2pm Hosted by the English Bridge School on BBO (Bridgebase-online).
The entry fee is just $3.50 per game and it is ideal for players still learning, or those who have completed Beginning Bridge Book One.

For each game:

The national charity for the promotion and development of bridge

English Bridge Education & Development (EBED) is a charity registered with the Charity Commission.

The charity has two public benefit objectives: the furtherance of duplicate bridge as an activity which enriches the life of all, and, secondly, a specific aim to foster duplicate bridge among those in full-time education.

We welcome you to our site whether you are learning or planning to teach or direct. We hope you can find the information you need and our team are always happy to help. We have a range of courses for teachers and some great learning materials.

We believe that bridge brings with it important benefits in terms of fostering social interaction, as well as supporting the use of mathematical reasoning and the application of logic.
