Nominations requested for junior teaching awards

The EBU invites nominations from any school, club or other organisation or individual for the Alec Salisbury and Tom Bradley Awards.

The Alec Salisbury Award is made to the school teacher who has made the most effective contribution to promoting bridge.

Alec Salisbury was the EBU's Schools and Youth Officer for many years, being instrumental in the introduction of Minibridge

Typical achievements might include: Establishment of a school bridge club; developing the range of players within that club; participation in county/EBED youth events; support for the Junior Award Scheme; promotion of academic and non-academic benefits of bridge within the school and community.

The Tom Bradley Award is made to the (non-school) teacher who has made the most contribution to promoting youth bridge

Tom Bradley was the former Treasurer of the EBU, who was a champion of attracting new players into the game of bridge.

Typical achievements might include: Major contribution to Junior Bridge Development; creating a sustained interest in bridge; Interaction with the adult bridge community; support for the Junior Award Scheme; promotion of academic and non-academic benefits of bridge within the community.
