Spring Bridge Camp 2025
For all young people ages 9-19 (Parents also welcome)
5th and 6th April 2025
Venue: Pioneer Centre, Kidderminster. DY14 8JG
Tuition: Bridge lessons and workshops. Bridge games for all levels. Outdoor activities, Group fun and competitive sessions. Beginner to advanced lessons.
What's included?: All tuition, accommodation and meals.
Program: Expert bridge tuition and curriculum provided by England coaches, international players and leading bridge teachers including Charlie Bucknell of Bucknell Bridge, who is working with EBED as National Youth Officer. The camp programme is designed to provide positive and energetic and positive experience for the young participants.
Safeguarding: EBED ensures that all staff participants are DBS checked and safeguarding measures are put in place
How do I book?
The cost is £110 for the weekend, (£90 before the end of February), inclusive of one night’s accommodation in a shared room, all meals, bridge tuition and competitions, sporting activities on Saturday afternoon.

Accompanying parents are welcome too (also £110).
Booking must be made through Lisa Miller (01296 317217). Lisa will require the names and details of all attendees and will raise an invoice for payment.

Lisa's working hours are 7.15am -3pm, Monday - Wednesday
We like to to insist upon payment at the time of booking. To respect the uncertainty that comes with arrangements for children, our cancellation policy is flexible to accommodate late changes wherever possible.

Who is this for? Will my child fit in?
Any juniors, of any standard, and any age, from 9 to 21. With a wide range of ages, and bridge abilities we are able to ensure that each child is allocated to a tuition group that is appropriate for them.
We will have groups for:
Those who have never played before
Those who are familiar with a little bridge but want to improve
Confident players who would like to learn under the tuition of the England U16 coach
The England u21 squad
What is the cost?
It’s £110 for the weekend, (£90 before the end of February), including bridge tuition and competitions, 1 night’s accommodation, all meals, trophies certificates and the chance to play some sporting or other activities on Saturday afternoon.
Can parents come too?
Yes accompanying parents can also stay for the weekend, for £110 based on a shared room.(£90 if booked before the end of February). They are welcome to attend all lessons and attend take part in the competitions.
Do we have to share rooms?
The bedrooms at Pioneer Centre are shared, with 2 beds per room and an en-suite bathroom. Parents can share rooms with their children, or young people can share with each other.

Who is organising this event?
The event is organised by English Bridge Education and Development, the national charity for the promotion of bridge. Our staff and volunteers are DBS checked and are very experienced in running youth bridge events.
How do I tell you about my child's diet needs other relevant health information?
Please let us know of any special dietary needs, or anything else that you would like us to know, at the time of booking
When should we arrive?
Children should arrive from 10am on Saturday 5th April. Tuition starts at 10:30am.
When does the event finish?
Attendees can be picked up from 3:30 pm on Sunday 6th April

Schedule / timetable (subject to minor changes)
Saturday
Delegates arrive from 10:00 on Saturday,
After an introduction the juniors will be placed in to their bridge tuition groups (based on experience) and start working with their teachers and coaches
Saturday Afternoon:
After lunch the children can join a sporting activity of their choice, rounders, roller skating or football
This is followed by a return to their bridge tuition groups.
Saturday Evening
After dinner the younger children will play a small competition in their tuition groups. The older children will participate in a duplicate pairs tournament, adults and helpers are welcome to join in.
After that there will be a speedball pairs tournament, running until late for those with the energy for more bridge.
Sunday
Sunday morning is the last session to work with your tuition groups.
After lunch there will be a fun quiz (always a popular event).
Followed by presentation of prizes, certificates of attainment and photographs
Departure and pick up is any time from 15:30
