Chair of English Bridge Education & Development

EBED is looking to recruit a successor to the current (non-executive) Chair, Andy Margetts, whose term ends this Summer. EBED is the national bridge education charity and its aims include: promoting the game of duplicate bridge; developing learning programmes and training materials (both online and physical) for teachers and students; training bridge teachers and tournament directors; and encouraging youth duplicate bridge throughout England. The EBU is a major donor to EBED.

We are looking for someone who really cares about the game of bridge and is passionate about promoting the game for future generations. The successful candidate is likely to have played a significant leadership role in their career (whether it be in a business, governmental, charitable or academic environment) and have the gravitas to lead a national organisation. They should be capable of thinking strategically, be able to work collaboratively with a range of personalities to create an effective team, possess the acumen necessary to make sound decisions and have a good understanding of the bridge world. As Chair, you will be ultimately responsible for governance of the Charity. The successful candidate will lead EBED’s board of Trustees and work with EBED’s CEO, Giorgio Provenza, to continue to develop the Charity.

A job description and profile of the role is available here. If you would like to register your interest in applying, or ask for further information about the position or the recruitment process, please email Andy at andy@ebedcio.org.uk.
