Junior players have great weekend at Southern Counties Bridge Camp

Dozens of junior players enjoyed a great weekend of bridge at the Southern Counties Junior Bridge Camp held in Ardingly from 12th - 14th August. The event, organised by Sussex CBA, included a wide range of competitions, lessons and other sporting and social activities for children of all ages and bridge playing ability.

Beginning Bridge Book One - The update is available now

"Its bigger, better, more relevant and it has finally arrived!" This is the verdict on the new edition of Beginning Bridge Book One, the Bridge for All national learning programme.

The old Beginning Bridge Book One, although still very popular with teachers and their students, was in need of a bit of a facelift. EBED Education Manager Sue Maxwell – herself a professional BfA teacher – and reigning European champion Sally Brock have worked hard to maintain the essence of the publication much loved by teachers and students, which was first published in 1997, whilst updating its tired format and ageing system file.

To order your copies of the new Beginning Bridge Book One do so in the normal way by contacting Lisa on 01296 317217.

Work is almost complete on a new edition of Continuing Bridge Book Two which will be available this Autumn. In addition, for all those teachers who teach very short courses a brand new publication is being written in time for the start of next year's lessons in Autumn 2017. Fast Forward Bridge is designed to attract students who want to join intensive five full-day learning programmes.

The group is run by Trupti Shah of Middlesex CBA, and introduces youngsters to bridge through minibridge, a fun, simplified version of the game which teaches some of the aspects of card play and defence which are found in the 'full version' of bridge.
